Freedom of the Press is Being Abused to Spread Lies

In big news, a federal judge dismissed Sarah Palin’s lawsuit against the failing New York Times, claiming that the false allegations made towards her were part and parcel of a free press where anything is allowed to be printed. While this isn’t surprising, I feel that this is almost the final nail in the rotting … Continue reading Freedom of the Press is Being Abused to Spread Lies

Is Journalism Worth Saving In 2017?

Here’s the Brian Stelter Twitter thread I refer to later: https://twitter.com/brianstelter/status/880051302167924736   I read a fascinating Twitter thread yesterday where Brian Stelter, a journalist and correspondent at CNN, complained about what he called “anti-journalistic sentiment”. He claimed that criticism towards journalism is good, as long as it's constructive, but that most of the critiques being … Continue reading Is Journalism Worth Saving In 2017?

How Trump’s Speech in Iowa Provided a Much Needed Morale Boost

To provide contrast to what I’m about to write, here’s an hilariously dire article from the (failing) Times: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/21/us/politics/trump-iowa-rally-venting-session.html   President Trump finally took a much needed break from what he humorously called the “Washington Swamp” to deliver a “Make America Great Again” speech that would serve as a recap on what he’s done so … Continue reading How Trump’s Speech in Iowa Provided a Much Needed Morale Boost

What Otto Warmbier’s Death Shows Us About North Korea

To keep it concise, the North Korean people are living in a complete nightmare of a nation. The North Korean government was only allowed to exist in order to help prop of communism in that region, and was part of the Soviet’s Cold War with the U.S. back in the mid-20th century. It was cute for the Soviet’s to parade around the Kim family and point out how well the nation was doing, despite all of their resources coming from the Soviet’s. They were literally a show pony, being trotted around in defense of the evil ideology of communism.

How New Media Pioneers Alex Jones and Dave Rubin Stood Against Fake News Today

For a long time now the keepers of old media have been trying their best to sink their already failing businesses even further into the depths of irrelevance. Publications like the New York Times and Washington Post put out false headline after false headline, and misreport so often I immediately scroll to the bottom of every article to read the corrections. The personalities of failing network news like CNN and Fox have had one career killing scandal after another. Its to the point where our president can yell, “FAKE NEWS” at a reporter, and most of America laughs and agrees with him.

How Japanese Anti-Terror Laws Raise Questions Over Safety Versus Freedom

Going through the list of 277 illegal acts, most of them make sense, especially when you take into account Japan’s unique situation of being an ethnically homogeneous, hard working, and honor bound society, whose citizens still pay a worldwide penalty for the cruel and vicious acts of their ancestors. As someone who supports a strong stance against terror, I welcome preemptive action and instituting order through law. That being said, some of these so called “terrorist actions” are ridiculous and clearly have a different motive.

Why We Should Be Worried About the Congressional Baseball Shooting

The irony here is that this blatant domestic terror attack did nothing for the political conversation in this nation. If Scalise’s armed security hadn’t been there, it's safe to say that most of those Republican congressmen would have been killed today. If the roles had been reversed, and the shooter was a Trump supporter firing on Democrats, we wouldn’t hear the end of this day. If this man hadn’t been a manipulated pawn, radicalized by leftist hate speech, we would have heard every Hollywood figurehead and pop star crying about gun regulation. Instead, we get none of that.
